GOAL

The Viva Township Art project involves creating “Living Art Galleries” with the help of volunteer artists, during Township Art Festivals, but also at other opportunities.  The Goal of the Township Art is three-fold:  

* To stimulate the economy of the community through the art and visitors coming to see the art,

* To bring underprivileged communities in contact with the arts and mentor and train community-based artists and,

* To visually transform informal settlements and poverty areas, through art. 

ACTIVITIES

Township Art Festivals, inviting and facilitating artists and transforming houses into works of art,

Liaising with and inviting artists to paint and transform houses into works of art
