Giving is one of the most rewarding human experiences and giving to the projects, programmes and initiatives of the Viva Foundation, particularly so, as the gifts serves to make a real and tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable children, women and underprivileged families.
From a practical point of view, giving to the Viva Foundation is tax-deductible in South Africa and Germany.
In South Africa – Viva is a tax exempted, Public Benefit Organisation with 18A status. A Tax Deductible 18A Certificate is issued for all bona fide donations, including Donations in Kind. Companies wishing to receive an 18A Tax Certificate, must please provide their full address and registration number. For companies, the Certificate is issued in the month following the donation. For individuals, please provide full address. Individual 18A Certificates are issued annually at the end of the Financial Year, unless otherwise requested.
In Germany – Viva is likewise tax-exempted and registered as “Gemeinnutzig”. Spendebescheinigungen are issued for each donation. Donors are requested to provide their full names and residential address for the certificate and their email address, as the certificates are sent by email and not by post.
B-BBEE Status
Companies wishing to improve their BEE status, can make donations to the Viva Foundation in 3 different categories: Social Enterprise, Enterprise Development and Enterprise Development in ICT. The Viva Enterprise Development Initiative complies to the requirements of BEE Verification Agencies with regard to the documentation, confirmations and beneficiary development, as prescribed, providing access to the economy, to underprivileged and previously disadvantages beneficiaries.
